  1. OWLS Niche startups (The Information, Clear Health Costs, The Skimm)
  2. LIONS Local startups (LION members)
  3. WATCHDOGS Nonprofit enterprise (INN; ProPublica, Marshall Project, The Trace)
  4. Giraffes Large, institutionally-backed new ventures (Vox, FiveThirtyEight, The Athletic)
